Difference: MiaPras (r4 vs. r3)

Mia30.jpg I obtained my Drs degree in Chemistry from the university of Utrecht, with a one-year excursion to the Ecole Normale Superieure de Chimie de Montpellier, France, and a specialization in small-molecule crystallography. I spent five years in Israel, doing my PhDat the Weizmann Institute of Science in protein crystallography, on the structure of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. During this time, I often traveled to synchrotrons in Brookhaven, Hamburg or Grenoble for data collection. After returning to the Netherlands, I did a post-doc at the university of Utrecht, in the combined use of NMR and crystallographic data for structure determination. In 1999, I started working as a scientist in pre-clinical research at Solvay Pharmaceuticals, later Abbott Healtcare Products, in Weesp. For the first seven years, I was a molecular modeller, assisting in the design of novel molecules for several neurological targets. Later, I switched to biostatistics for pre-clinical studies. In 2009, I started doing the Master's in "Statistical Science for the Life and Behavioural Sciences" at the university of Leiden, as a part-time student. Here at the AMC, I will be working on the analysis of metabolomics data, mainly for the LeukoTreat project, together with people from the GMZ lab.
